Into the Woods Cumbria was born from a desire to share the beauty of the Eden Valley with as many people as possible
Into the Woods Cumbria is an ever-evolving concept. What started as throwing parties for friends in a field has become a place for anyone to enjoy spending time with their nearest and dearest, surrounded by nature.
We now have two offerings:
Gaddalands is a “dry hire” camping and glamping site with 4 acres of land
Silva Treehouse is a luxury treehouse in the forest
Into the Woods Cumbria is based at Maughanby Farm, a working farm that has been in the Rowley family for generations. When we moved in, we knew we wanted to welcome more people through our gates.
The farm is home to 2 adults, 4 kids, 4 dogs, 3 businesses and a constant whirlwind of new ideas.
Our aim is to make our life in the Eden Valley as environmentally, ecologically and financially sound as possible, and importantly to have fun doing it.
The Team
Into the Woods Cumbria Co-Founders
Lucy & Grant Rowley
Without wanting to come across big-headed, we are renowned in our friendship group for hosting parties. When our kids came along we didn’t want that to stop!
Grant’s passion is forestry, and Lucy loves to be with and around people, so we make a pretty good team.
It might sound cliché, but fun really is at the core of everything we build at Into the Woods Cumbria and we hope you feel that when you’re here!
We are custodians of this land
We work tirelessly to improve the biodiversity of our land in the forests, wildflower meadows, hedgerows and ponds. Into the Woods Cumbria is home to brown hares, roe deer, kestrels, tawny and barn owls.
All of the wooden structures at Into the Woods Cumbria use wood from the farm, grown under Grant’s expert supervision with innovation and best practice.
